Huay Yang, Thap Sakae

BEACH
Huay Yang beach in the Thap Sakae District, is a beautiful, relaxed,10 kilometers long and located near a small village. The primary attraction in Huay Yang is relaxation. It’s an ideal place to unwind, sunbathe, and enjoy the natural surroundings. The sea is good for swimming and with the easterly wind the waves become higher.

In a short period of time a series of apartments was built, mainly for Scandinavian residents. The rapid development of a real Thai fishing village into a growing holiday destination for westerners, makes it a special location. Near the village there is even a golf course. If you are looking for a quiet beach where you are not the only tourist, but with some Western facilities, this is a great place to go.

WHERE TO STAY
Nishaville Resort and Villa Maris are elegant luxury stays right near the beach. At Nishaville, you can choose between the 4-person bungalow or one of the 2 to 4-person apartments in the main building. Both have their own kitchen and living room. We prefer the bungalows since they are near the better part of the beach. Villa Maris is a privately owned complex, but many owners rent out their bungalows. If you are looking for a basic mid-range place close to the village, we advise staying at Green Beach Resort, close to the pier.

The further south you go, the quieter the beach becomes. Tub Beach Resort and Mumsa are great mid-range stays, 8 kilometers south of the village, and are both good places to go. The bungalows are in a cozy environment on a beautiful and quiet part of the beach. Most of the small restaurants are in the village, and Green Beach Resort, Tub Beach Resort and Mumsa have a restaurant.

PLACE
Thap Sakae is situated south of the popular beach destinations of Hua Hin and Cha-am. The unknown beaches in the Thap Sakae District near Prachuap Khiri Khan are good places to go if you like peace and quiet and want to explore the hinterland.

The area around Thap Sakae has a laid-back and traditional Thai atmosphere. The locals engage in traditional fishing and farming and the district’s culture reflects these rural traditions. The beach is still the home of the local fishermen. Huay Yang is a small Scandinavian enclave aimed more towards Western tourists, and has a golf course, for instance.
