North Andaman (NA)

The beaches from Ranong up to Krabi. You will find TreasureBeaches near all yellow highlighted placemarks!

North Andaman is a region of extremes. Most of the northern islands in this region are laid-back, such as Ko Phayam and Ko Chang. Others, Ko Phra Thong for instance, are still almost undiscovered by tourists, meanwhile the southern part of the region, like Khao Lak and Phuket, tends to be overcrowded. However, even here we unexpectedly found some TreasureBeaches. We have decided not to list Railay and Ko Phi Phi, since these places have become more mainstream over the years and TreasureBeaches wants to focus on the more undiscovered beaches.

The coastline of North Andaman is impressive with lush limestone cliffs and rainforest hills. The Surin Islands and the Similan Islands are great destinations if you like diving and snorkeling! If you want a more regular beach life, Surin and Similan Islands are not the best choice. Nok Air and Airasia have daily flights to Ranong, making the northern part of the region easier to visit. The airport of Phuket is a good destination to start your visit of the southern part of this region.

The best time to visit this region is from mid-November to the end of April. The rainy season runs from July to November. During this period, the area around Ranong receives a particularly large amount of rainfall (more than 400 per month).
