North Andaman

North Andaman is a region of extremes. Most of the northern islands in this region are laid-back, such as Ko Phayam and Ko Chang, and others, such as Ko Phra Thong, are still almost undiscovered by tourists. Meanwhile, the southern part of the region, with Khao Lak and Phuket, tends to be overcrowded, but here too we found some unexpectedly good beaches. We have decided not to list Ko Phi Phi. This island became so mainstream and TreasureBeaches wants to focus on the more undiscovered beaches.

The coastline of North Andaman is impressive with lush limestone cliffs and rainforest hills. The Surin Islands and the Similan Islands are great destinations for an excursion, or if you like diving and snorkeling! If you want a regular beach life, Surin and Similan Islands are not the best choice. Nok Air and Airasia have daily flights to Ranong, making it easier to visit the northern part of the region.

The best time to visit this region is from mid-November to the end of April. The rainy season runs from July to November. During this period, the area around Ranong receives a particularly large amount of rainfall (more than 400/month).
