BEACH
The northernmost bay of Ko Phayam is called Ao Kwangpeeb or Monkey Bay. The hilly northern tip of the island is covered by jungle and is the habitat of a few monkey tribes. Ao Kwangpeeb is a small, beautiful, lonely bay with only one resort.
The small beach itself is absolutely beautiful: the bay is surrounded with black rocks, a forest and fine sand without sand fleas. During high tide the majority of the beach disappears. Overall, it is a good place to go if you want to escape the crowd. During low tide the water recedes, and you have to walk a short distance to swim. Some boulders lie along the coastline, making swimming less enjoyable. However, water shoes easily solve this problem.
WHERE TO STAY
You can stay at Gulf Kwangpeeb, most of the bungalows are located on the small hill, so you can enjoy the beautiful view over the bay. The wooden bungalows are simple but good to spend a few nights. Electricity is available in the evening.
The small quiet bay is accessible through a concrete road that turns into an unpaved road for the last 500 meters. There is also a restaurant, but if you want to eat at other places, Ao Khao Kwai is only 1,5 kilometers away.
