ISLAND
Ko Sukorn, one of our favorite islands in South Andaman, is a relatively large island which is mostly flat, making it ideal for bike tours. Ko Sukorn features a range of landscapes, including beaches, fields, and fishing villages. The island is a haven for nature lovers and those looking to escape the crowds. The small island villages have a relaxed atmosphere. You are able to explore rubber plantations, watermelon fields and rice fields here.

WHAT TO DO
Take a day trip to Ko Lao Liang, Ko Takieng and Ko Petra: these islands have powdery white sand, beautiful clear water and coral reefs. You have to organize the excursion yourself; it is best to approach fishermen or ask around at your hotel. The excursion costs about 3,000 baht. There are no ATMs on the island, so make sure to bring cash!

TRANSPORT
The city of Trang is a good starting position the reach Ko Sukorn. Trang is a friendly provincial town to spend the night. Wander the streets and eat at the night market in Ruenrom Alley, about a 15-minute walk from the train station. We advise going to Trang Happy Trip & Tour (081 607 2411) next to the train station to arrange your transportation. You will receive professional help with a smile for fair prices.

From Trang, shared transportation is the cheapest way to reach Ko Sukorn. A shared pick-up leaves in the early morning, at 5.30 a.m., and costs 150 baht per person. A shared longtail boat (50 baht per person) will bring you to the island. Private transport costs 1000 baht for a taxi and 350 baht for the longtail boat. Once arrived on the island, motorcycle taxis will take you to your stay for 100 baht.
