South Beach, Ko Adang

BEACH
There are 2 beaches with stays on Ko Adang, located on the south and southeast coasts. South Beach is wide with brightly colored coarse-grained sand. Palms and other trees outline the beach, providing plenty of shade to escape the sun if you need a break from the heat. The beach is well-maintained and provides a serene and idyllic setting for visitors to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the island. This beach truly feels like paradise! This beach is good for snorkeling in the shallow waters, where you can discover a variety of colorful fish and coral.

With calm transparent turquoise water, the bay is ideal for swimming at high tide. Therefore, it is important to know that it is impossible to swim on this beach at low tide. Just enjoy the pool of Adang Beach Resort. It is a quiet beach with a nice view of Ko Lipe. During the day the beach is visited by daytrippers from Ko Lipe.

WHERE TO STAY
There is only one stay on South Beach, the Adang Island Resort, which is a great place with a pool and nice bungalows. You are able to take a free boat connection to Ko Lipe 3 times a day. Otherwise it is also possible to arrange a private longtail boat.

The resort has a restaurant, however, if you prefer to go out for dinner somewhere else, take a trip to Ko Lipe where you will find plenty of good food spots.

TRANSPORT
From Bangkok you can take a flight to Trang or Hat Yai. Pakbara Pier is a 2-hour taxi or minibus ride from both towns. Trang is a friendly provincial town to spend the night. Wander the streets and eat at the night market in Ruenrom Alley, about a 15-minute walk from the train station. We advise going to Trang Happy Trip & Tour (081 607 2411) next to the train station to arrange your transportation. You will receive professional help with a smile for fair prices.

A private taxi from Trang to Pakbara is 2000 baht. Shared taxis (250 baht per person) leave around 8:45 a.m. You need to wait for the minibus coming from Krabi. At Pakbara, the shared speedboat leaves at 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. to Ko Lipe and costs 700 baht per person. From Ko Lipe you have to take a longtail boat (100 baht per person) to get to Ko Adang.
