ISLAND
Ko Adang is part of the Ko Tarutao Marine National Park in the South Andaman region. It is a beautiful island with several beaches, forested hills, waterfalls and a beautiful coral reef. This is the perfect place to stay for nature lovers or people who like snorkeling and tranquility.

WHAT TO DO
You can explore the island’s natural attractions, such as jungle trekking, birdwatching, and visiting waterfalls. On Ko Adang, there are many hiking trails to discover. It is a fairly large island with hardly any tourism. An attraction of Ko Adang is the Chao Dao Viewpoint with a magnificent view over the Tarutao Marine Park.

Snorkeling is possible everywhere around the island, with a relatively high amount of beautiful snorkeling spots. The coral is in an average condition and you always see many, extraordinary fish species. You can easily arrange diving trips from Ko Lipe.

Because Ko Adang is part of the national park you sometimes have to pay an entrance fee of 200 baht per person. The national park offers camping facilities and you can set up your tent at the designated camping area. Camping on the island is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings. There are no ATMs on the island, so make sure to bring cash. It is good to know that there are ATMs at Ko Lipe.

TRANSPORT
From Bangkok you can take a flight to Trang or Hat Yai. Pakbara Pier is a 2-hour taxi or minibus ride from both towns. Trang is a friendly provincial town to spend the night. Wander the streets and eat at the night market in Ruenrom Alley, about a 15-minute walk from the train station. We advise going to Trang Happy Trip & Tour (081 607 2411) next to the train station to arrange your transportation. You will receive professional help with a smile for fair prices.

A private taxi from Trang to Pakbara is 2000 baht. Shared taxis (250 baht per person) leave around 8:45 a.m. You need to wait for the minibus coming from Krabi. At Pakbara, the shared speedboat leaves at 11.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. to Ko Lipe and costs 700 baht per person. From Ko Lipe you have to take a longtail boat (100 baht per person) to get to Ko Adang.
